Night Game Drive
When the sun sets, a different wilderness wakes up. Spot bush babies, civets and porcupines — and watch predators at their most active hour.
The Experience
The Bush After Dark
Night game drives offer a unique safari experience after sunset, usually between 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm, revealing a different side of the African wilderness.
During a night game drive, you may spot elusive nocturnal creatures such as bush babies, genets, civets, porcupines, aardvarks, owls, and nightjars. Meanwhile, predators, including lions, leopards, and hyenas, become increasingly active, offering thrilling opportunities to observe authentic hunting or stealthy territorial movements.
The atmosphere at night is quiet, mysterious, and full of anticipation, as every sound in the dark bush feels amplified. On clear nights, the experience feels even more enchanting under a tapestry of stars, creating a serene and unforgettable backdrop for the adventure.
Night game drives are a rare privilege, as they are only permitted in certain protected areas or private concessions. This makes them a special addition to any safari, offering guests a deeper and more complete understanding of Africa’s wildlife and its natural rhythms after dark.
